A walk through your wedding day

7am – YOUR BIG DAY IS HERE

You have waited many months for today and now it is finally here. It is time to spend your incredible wedding day at this beautiful venue. All of your planning is a distant memory and we are hard at work creating your dream day and menu. It’s almost time to travel Purton, the stunning Wiltshire village which is home to The Pear Tree.

9am – YOUR DRESSING ROOM AWAITS

From 9 am you will be able to access Cascade, your own beautiful dressing room. Located on the top floor of The Pear Tree overlooking the rolling gardens and vineyard, this luxurious space is designed for that all-important pampering and is furnished with everything you could need for putting the finishing touches to your look. Those precious hours before the ceremony will be spent with your nearest and dearest as you get ready for one of the most exciting days of your life.
 
Feeling peckish? We have a selection of grazing boards and drinks you can order to keep your energy levels up as you get ready.

12pm – YOUR EXCLUSIVE HIRE BEGINS

The Pear Tree is exclusively yours for the day. While you are putting together the final touches in Cascade, our Events Team will be on hand to greet your guests. Our licensed bar will be open for guests to purchase refreshments, and will close 30 minutes before the ceremony to give guests time to finish their drinks and take their seats.

If you have chosen a church wedding, the venue is still yours to use as you please, we will amend the running of the day to accommodate these arrangements. You can find four beautiful churches within a two miles of The Pear Tree, including the beautiful St Mary parish church which is next door.

12:45pm – MEET WITH THE REGISTRAR

Just before the ceremony, you will both (separately) answer a few questions with the registrar. This is an informal chat, so you are both prepared for the next steps.

1pm – SAY ‘I DO’

Your guests will be seated and awaiting your imminent arrival. Make the walk down the striking galleried staircase. The beautiful atrium allows lots of natural light in for those perfect photographer shots, capturing the moments before you get ready to make your grand entrance into Blossom or down the garden walk to your outdoor ceremony. Get ready for some of the most important words you will ever say.

1:30pm – DRINKS RECEPTION

After your ceremony, step out onto the balcony at the top of the sweeping staircase and enjoy your first moments alone as a married couple. Make your way down to the gardens and then mingle with your loved ones and treat them to a memorable drinks reception. A Champagne bar or cocktail station coupled with mouth-watering canapés will certainly go down a treat.

2PM – CAMERA READY

Your photographer will whisk you both away to some of the most romantic spots in The Pear Tree to spend some quality time together. Favourite spots include the rolling lawns, the vineyards and of course The Pear Tree at the entrance to the venue.

3PM – YOUR WEDDING BREAKFAST

When it’s time for your meticulously planned and prepared wedding breakfast make your way into the stunning new Orangery which is light and airy but with its honey coloured stone feels like it has always been part of this historic house. Here you and your guests will create new memories while you enjoy your wedding breakfast overlooking the gardens.

5pm – SAY A FEW WORDS

It is up to you whether you hold your speeches before or after the wedding breakfast. Once you have finished your first meal as a married couple, spend your time out on the terrace surrounding The Orangery with your guests in a relaxed and sophisticated setting. Your evening entertainment can take this opportunity to discreetly set up and get everything ready for the perfect party back in the Bartlett Lounge.

7pm – EVENING GUESTS ARRIVE

Any evening guests will arrive and start to join the party at this time, give them the warmest of welcomes with a glass of prosecco on arrival (please speak to our team for more information on food and drink upgrades).

The Bartlett Lounge will be set up with your band or DJ ready for your evening party to start.

7:30pm – FIRST DANCE & CAKE CUTTING

Now all your friends and family have gathered and are ready to witness you cut the cake and come together for your first dance as a married couple. Traditionally, you would cut the cake and then take to the dance floor, but you can choose to do things however you like when you celebrate here.

8pm – GET THE PARTY STARTED

It is time to turn the music up and dance the night away with the ones you love. You can choose to have some fun with our in-house photo booth, and any additional entertainment that you may want to offer can easily be accommodated.

8:15pm – EXCITING EVENING FOOD

As evening falls, you can treat your guests to an array of stunning food options served freshly cooked to your guests. Our chefs will cook anything from wood-fired pizzas to barbecues, paellas and fragrant wok food, which can either be served to your guests outside as the sun sets or indoor should the weather take a turn for the worse.

11:15pm – LAST ORDERS

Your bar manager will call last orders and start to draw the night to a close. It is time for one last drink and a final dance with your friends and family.

11:30pm – THE WIND DOWN

Your DJ or band will play the last song, giving you the perfect opportunity to say thank you and goodnight to your guests. Your guests will then make their way into the atrium and up the winding staircase which will lead them to the 17 luxurious bedrooms in The Pear Tree.

12 MIDNIGHT – THE JOURNEY HOME

We ask that all guests who are not residing at The Pear Tree for the night vacate the venue by midnight. We ask that any taxis are booked well in advance and guests wait in reception for the arrival of their drivers who will collect them from reception. You can then retire to the luxurious Moonglow honeymoon suite, with its private lounge, balcony overlooking the grounds, modern bathroom and exquisite style, where you can unwind in peace and privacy.

7:30am – BREAKFAST IN STYLE

Gather together once again in The Orangery and enjoy a delicious breakfast from 7:30 am onwards. This is a wonderful way to end your time at The Pear Tree as you can eat, drink and reminisce about your big day with your closest friends and family.

10am – CHECK OUT TIME

Your items from the day before will be collected together and ready for you when you leave, so it is time to say your final goodbyes to your guests, our team and to The Pear Tree. We wish you lots of joy in your married lives together!
