Dogs @ The Pear Tree
We love welcoming dogs and they stay for free, they even get treats in the room on arrival. Surrounded by fields & beautiful Wiltshire countryside, we're perfect for long walks and lazy days.
The hotel is set in 7.5 acres, and there are walks of up to a mile from the back of the hotel through woods and over streams without crossing over any roads. By crossing one small country road, there are much longer walks for the fitter and keener dogs and owners.
Dogs are provided with a bowl, welcome chews, and a bottle of mineral water. We now supply a bath towel per dog, in case they find the lily pond or wetlands and go swimming !
We do ask that dogs are not left unattended in the rooms at any point unless in a cage, we find most dogs are happiest left in the car during dinner and breakfast. We understand however that all dogs are different and if you choose to leave your dog in your room alone and any damage is caused we may charge you for repairs.
Dogs are welcome in the public areas but not the restaurant. We do ask that the wishes of other guests who may not appreciate four legged friends are taken on board if necessary. If you would like your dog to join you for dinner we can provide meals in the bar area but we may need to request a specific time to avoid any busy periods which may upset your dog. We are unable to offer this service on Friday and Saturday nights.
Sadly Jake, who was the resident Springer Spaniel is no longer with us, but we still have a few dogs that are around the hotel on a regular basis. Smudge, our assistant gardener, helps Jeff regularly. Bramble is sometimes allowed to visit as is Willow her puppy, neither is quite as well behaved as Smudge but both will happily fetch a stick or stone for you to play with!
